Chaitanya Rural Development Society is a registered non-profitable organization grounded in social values for the care of the weaker sections of the society and to serve them without any consideration of caste or creed. It acts as a catalyst and convener of social justice and development. Chaitanya aims at the upliftment and sustainable development of rural poor, empowerment of women, backward communities through education, health, environment, agriculture, horticulture, watershed development, forestry, social awareness programs and community-based rehabilitation programs. It was founded in 1996 and is inspired by good leadership. It has been promoting its mission through a number of programs since its establishment for the realization of its vision.

COVID has had a damaging impact on the charity sector. The situation is paradoxical as the need is growing
while support is declining. In 2020, Chaitanya Rural Development society focused on Rural Development
activities around Shivamogga District in Karnataka state, India. Especially at this time, the world needs –
now more than ever – unity, humanity, and compassion for those around us.

Success Story
2020 was a difficult and challenging year. While there was lots of discussion about COVID challenges for the Indian economy, there is little talk about how the current crisis is impacting the non-profits section. COVID has had a damaging impact on the charity sector. The situation is paradoxical as the need is growing while support is declining. In 2020, Chaitanya Rural Development society focused on Rural Development activities around Shivamogga District in Karnataka state, India. Especially at this time, the world needs now more than ever – unity, humanity, and compassion for those around us.We will continue to do our best with our planned rural development activities. We created 5 new FPO of WDD watersheds with Govt of Karnataka to reach more farmers on their sustainable development. Our 10 FPO’s of NABARD has done excellent work during COVID also. We reached 15000 beneficiaries. Also we provide the microfinance benefits to 17000 women’s with NABFINS and ICICI coordination also we created more awareness programs with all safety guidelines of COVID.
