1. NABARD FPO Promotion Grants
NABARD has taken an initiative for supporting producer organizations (POs), adopting a flexible approach to meet the needs of producers.
Chaitanya as POPI, conducted capacity building programmes for CEO and Board Members / Management of the PO and also infrastructure requirements, market interventions and other support facilities necessary for financial sustainability of the PO. Facilitated the PO in obtaining necessary approvals / permissions, etc., in dealing with procurement and sale of inputs and in marketing of produce of the members through market linkages, convergence with various Government interventions pertaining to POs, members’ activities, etc. Trained PO Board members to develop governance & management structure facilitate credit and market linkages and provide handholding support for attaining financial sustainability during the period.
2. CAT Programme
Capacity Building for Adoption of Technology (CAT), Technological upgradation and innovation has been the hall mark of Indian Agriculture. NABARD has been in the forefront in facilitating and adoption of technology by farmers through FPOs exposure visits CAT, in collaboration with selected high performing FPOs, Research Institute, KVKs. The areas covered are Agri extension practices, dairy farming, integrated farming methods, organic farming, etc. Progressive Farmers from Sanjeevini and Bhadrahasiru FPO were part of this CAT progrmme held in July and August.
3. MEDP Programme
NABARD, has been supporting need-based skill development such as Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDPs) for matured SHGs. MEDPs have been leveraged to impart/upgrade skills to/of SHGs to serve as a foundation for setting-up of microenterprises in farm and off farm activities.
MEDP was on Honey extraction and marketing of its products through SHGs. Aim was to train them for setting up their entrepreneurship or marketing their products though local markets, SHGs and FPOs. This was held at Aremanekoppa Village at Sagara Taluk, Wherein 30 SHG women participated for 25 Days programme spread across 8 weeks
4.RIPF Waste Management
Rural Infrastructure Promotion Fund (RIPF) to support programs and activities that promote rural infrastructure, with the ultimate objective of facilitating agriculture and rural development. Creation of experimental infrastructure projects by Gram Panchayats (GPs). Dry Waste Management Installation was done at Ripponpet Gram Panchayath, Hosanagar taluk, Shivamogga district. This setup is expected to process up to 300kg/day of plastic waste into shredded chips and raise enough operational profit to make it sustainable
Governmental Projects
1. Amruth FPOs
Collectivization of primary producers, especially small and marginal farmers, into producer organisations is emerging as one of the most effective pathways to address various challenges of agriculture and most importantly, improved access to investments, technologies, quality inputs and markets. Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Handlooms & Textiles and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences.
Registration charges of 30 FPOs across four districts- Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Haveri and Uttar Kannada. Major tasks were Mobilizing of Farmers to bring awareness about FPOs, conducted Exposure visits at various successful FPOs, Training to lead farmers, Directors and CEOs on various statutory compliances, governance and many other topics. Provided support in terms of, technical advice, market linkages, access to credit, input supplies, technology adoption, Credit facilitation, Information dissemination, Convergences and many, Collaboration with Agricultural Universities to provide research-based knowledge, technical expertise, and training programs to FPOs
2. JJM Programme
Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) (also known as Mane Manege Gange) spread awareness about water and sanitation issues, emphasis has been given to Information, Education and Communication (IEC) under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The IEC activities include spreading awareness through newspaper, radio, TV channels, wall painting, drama, announcement, Jatha, short show, pamphlet, poster, billboard, social media, etc.
As as implementation Support Resource Agencies (ISRA) in the implementation of these missions, by providing Information, Education and Communication to the public. In addition to this, IEC activities are taken up for the effective implementation of the mission through various programs like home visits, awareness, indoor discussion, meetings, slogan, shramadana, jatha programs, lectures by village heads and religious leaders, etc. Educate communities on water-related topics like water quality, water conservation, and water-borne diseases.
3. PMKSY-WDC 2.0 Programme
Implementing Watershed Development Component Pradhan Manthri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana 2.0 at Hirenelluru Village, Kadur Taluk, Chikkmagaluru District -Karnataka State is to accelerate the economic growth rate of rainfed areas agriculture. At watershed level, the development plan shall be guided by the need to achieve higher income for farmers, expanded livelihood options for landless, equity in distribution of benefits, community ownership and management.
Efficient water harvesting and retention of rainwater in soil profile; and entitling all project members to ground and surface water resources on equitable basis. Improving intensity and productivity of various crops, livestock, fisheries and biomass production systems through optimal integrated, sustainable and efficient use of natural resources in the project areas. Promotion of simple, easy to use and affordable technologies and practices, that builds upon local knowledge and
4. REWARD Programme
The World Bank assisted Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development (REWARD) program is a Watershed development program at Beguru sub Watershed , Shikaripura taluk, Shivamogga District. Strengthen Capacities to adopt improved watershed management for increasing farmers resilience and support value chains in selected watersheds. Overall, REWARD program will helps to increase the farm productivity and income levels of watershed community through application of modern and scientific practices in the field of watershed development
5. MGIRED Programme
Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Energy and Development (MGIRED) are providing training over 3/5 days for the Gram Panchayat Level Federation of SHGs in understanding the processes involved in Solid waste management, categories of segregation, management of wet and dry waste, domestic hazardous waste, etc. It is serving the dual purpose of women empowerment and sustainability. In the absence of SWM practice, waste generally would be burnt in the villages, emitting poisonous gasses, or ending up in open spaces, drains, waterways etc. Now the waste is being properly collected and segregated, and revenue is earned from the sale of recyclables and service fee collected from residents and commercial units.
CSR Projects

Sustainable and Comprehensive Agriculture for Livelihood Enhancement (SCALE), in its third term aimed improve income of farmers through adoption of Sustainable agriculture practices, Intercropping, advanced mechanization and effective market linkages.
Sustainable Agricultural Practices in form of package of practices and Model Processing Units for Ripponpet, Dhatri, Doddamathali and Kallukoppa FPOs. Trained and promoted Intercropping for 500 farmers with spices such as black pepper. Facilitated various research and innovative practices in association with centre of excellence and academic institutions. Conducted exposure of farmers for cross learning on GPS based irrigation system, intercropping, improved areca processing machineries etc. Introduced the mechanization and automation in agriculture to increase their quality and productivity. Promoted ‘Custom Hiring Centers’ as community resource to provide timely availability of farm equipment’s on their requirements.
Total 2000 farmers have been trained on different themes of Areca Nut Farming (Pest Control, Mechanization, Harvesting, Marketing, intercropping and Value Addition etc.). The FPOs have already been provided equipment for mechanization and further modern farm machineries will be introduced which will be the permanent assets for Farmer’s Producer Organizations. The FPO will use the equipment and develop their capacity as “Custom Hiring Center (CHC)”. The revenue regenerated from CHC will be used for the maintenance and operation of FPOs. Suitable Information Education and Communication material designed and published to spread the best agriculture practices in order to higher production with appropriate quality.
40 progressive farmers via Model Farming Farm and by having the resource of Sustainable Agriculture Practices like package of practices, processing center etc
150 farmers with be benefited through hybrid (solar cum steam) dryer installation for areca at a FPO. In long term, the project will help in better income realization of farmer which resulted in improved livelihoods. The impact will be realized after three years of the project implementation. It is expected to average increment of Rs 5,000 to10,000 per acre.
Kshitij Foundation –WE programme

Empowering Women and girls to attain their full potential in all spheres of life by strategically engagement of men, family and community.
Capacity building of women and girls to enhance their knowledge, skills, attitude and behavior to overcome their life challenges. Ensure access to gender sensitive and wellbeing products and services in partnership with government and other CSR initiatives. Shahi Kshitij Soft Skill Training Program held at various villages of Sagara and Shikraipura districts.
2. Sahayog - Employees Welfare fund programme
Dhwani Foundation Sahayog is jointly funded by Caring Friends and another private Donor from Mumbai, to support grassroots NGOs to set up a Sahayog fund. Enables small NGOs to support staff members of their organizations in peer to peer loan. This initiative proposes to consider supporting long serving employees of an NGO through short term loans at a zero % interest rate for them to tide over emergency fund requirements. 11 employees got benefited out of this programme. The loan was utilized to pursue higher studies for their kids, Family health insurance and the education fees etc.
